Welcome to HabitDaily. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information while using our app. We are committed to safeguarding your data and ensuring transparency about how your information is handled.
Data Storage & Sync via iCloud
HabitDaily uses Apple's iCloud and SwiftData to store and sync your habit tracking data across your devices.
What We Store:
- Habit data: Habit names, icons, colors, categories, frequencies, notes
- Check-in data: Completion dates, skip reasons, status (completed/skipped/missed)
- Reminders: Notification preferences, custom messages, notification times
- App settings: Theme preferences, color palettes, onboarding status
How It's Stored:
- All data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData
- Data is automatically synced to your personal iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled
- We do not have access to your iCloud data - it's encrypted and stored in your Apple account
- You maintain full control over your data through your iCloud settings
🔒 Privacy Note: Your habit data never leaves Apple's ecosystem. We cannot see, access, or retrieve your personal habit information.
Data Deletion:
- You can delete all your data by deleting the app
- To remove data from iCloud: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → HabitDaily → Delete Documents & Data
Subscription & Purchase Management via StoreKit
HabitDaily uses Apple's StoreKit 2 to provide premium subscriptions, ensuring a secure and privacy-focused experience.
What Apple Collects:
- Purchase transaction details (handled entirely by Apple)
- Subscription status and renewal information
- All payment information is processed by Apple - we never see your credit card details
What We Store Locally:
- Premium status: A simple boolean flag (isPremium: true/false)
- Purchase date: The date you became a premium member
- No personal identifiers: We don't collect or store any personal information related to purchases
How Subscriptions Work:
- All subscription management happens through Apple's App Store
- Purchases are validated directly with Apple's servers
- We use StoreKit 2's built-in security features to verify subscriptions
- No third-party payment processors are used
Analytics & Crash Reporting via Firebase
HabitDaily uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve app quality and user experience.
What Firebase Collects:
- Anonymous analytics events: App usage patterns, feature interactions, screen views
- Crash reports: Technical error logs to help us fix bugs
- Device information: Device model, OS version, app version (all anonymized)
🛡️ Important Privacy Protections:
- Debug mode: Analytics and Crashlytics are completely disabled during development/testing
- Production mode: Only anonymized, aggregated data is collected
- No personal information: We never send names, emails, or personally identifiable data to Firebase
- Opt-out: You can disable analytics by turning off "Share Analytics" in your iOS device settings

- Your name or email
- Your specific habit names or personal notes
- Individual check-in data

Notifications
HabitDaily can send you local notifications to remind you about your habits.
What We Use:
- Apple's UserNotifications framework for local notifications
- Notifications are generated locally on your device
- No remote notifications or push notification services
What's Included:
- Notification time and frequency (stored locally)
- Custom reminder messages (Premium feature, stored locally)
- All notification data stays on your device
Your Control:
- You can enable/disable notifications in the app settings
- Free users: One daily reminder at 6:00 PM
- Premium users: Custom reminders per habit with personalized times and messages
- Manage notification permissions in iOS Settings → HabitDaily → Notifications
What We DO NOT Collect
HabitDaily is designed with privacy-first principles:

❌ No user profiling or behavioral targeting
Third-Party Services
Services We Use:

What We DON'T Use:

Children's Privacy
HabitDaily does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require age verification. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us.
Data Security
- All data is encrypted on your device and in iCloud
- We use Apple's security frameworks (SwiftData, CloudKit)
- No data is transmitted to our servers
- Premium status is validated locally through StoreKit
Your Rights & Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Access: View all your data directly in the app
- Export: Export your habit data as CSV (Settings → Export Data)
- Delete: Delete all data by removing the app or using "Delete All Data" in settings
- Opt-out of Analytics: Disable in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements
International Users
HabitDaily stores data in your iCloud account, which follows Apple's global data storage policies. Firebase data is processed according to Google's global infrastructure.
